Classes and Lesson Descriptions

Phil Lenihan
Level 3, IISA Certified & Insured
In-line Skating Instructor
Since: 1997

I give private and group lessons.

It's the law if you are under 18 years old, and you are skating,
HELMETS (a bike helmet is OK) ARE MANDATORY, ALSO IN ALL CLASSES.

A Basic Lesson/Adult Introduction consists of the following targets:

           Introduction and General Discussion

Safety and Equipment
           Stride I
           Stopping
           Turning - A-Frame
           Stride II
           Swizzle
           Spin Stop check video.
           Grass Stop
           Turning - Parallel Turn
           Review, Questions.

I am a Level 3 International Inline Skating Association, IISA, Certified, Insured Instructor. I can teach any place that is flat, safe and smooth and has a grassy area adjacent. The place I use most often is Cumberland School, Sunnyvale, when school is not in session. A lesson runs from 60 to 90 minutes. The number of lessons depends on your skating experience. I have found that most people who have skated before only need one or two lessons. Lessons can be from one to four people. HELMETS (a bike helmet is OK) AND PADS ARE MANDATORY, don't ask for my "no helmet" horror stories, you don't want to hear them.

Please don't ever skate without a helmet.

The cost for an adult 60-90 minute Private Lesson is $60. A child lesson is 60 miutes and cost is 440. My schedule is very flexible.

Background information can be found here or
you can call me at 408-741-7503.

Cheers! PHIL
